Anita Davila Moody, age 81, of Camden, NC, died at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. She was born in Kosse, TX, on May 9, 1944, to the late Isidoro Davila and Herlinda Deleon Davila, and was the widow of Daniel C. Moody. She attended New Life Assembly of God. Anita loved the Lord and lived her life according to Matthew 28:19:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Anita is survived by two daughters, Norita Moody Byrum and Patricia Moody Chappell (Brandon), both of NC; a son, James D. "Bo" Moody (Amy) of NC; two grandchildren, Aaryn Torrance (Aaron) and Caden Byrum, both of NC; two sisters, Mary Davila and Helen Jaimes, both of TX; one great-granddaughter, Lilith Torrance; two brothers-in-law, Chris Horton (Debbie) and John Garza; three sisters-in-law, Annie Elmore (Mike), Janie Davila, and Corina Davila; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Anita was predeceased by her sister, Irene Garza; three brothers, Benjamin Davila, Joel Davila, and Isidoro Davila; and her in-laws, James and Norita Horton.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at New Life Assembly of God Church, 1958 N. Road Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, with the Rev. Clay Manos officiating. Inurnment will be at West Lawn Cemetery.
