Anita Carol Peeler, 66, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away July 11, 2024, in Springfield, MO. She was born February 5, 1958, to George and Bettie Beckett.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years Robert Peeler, her 5 children, Sarah, Daniel, Jasper, Rachael, and Hammy, and 15 grandchildren.
She was an incredible wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother. Anita truly loved the Lord her God with her whole heart, soul, and mind and the evidence was in how well she loved everyone around her. She gave of herself, her time, and resources generously and unconditionally. She lived with integrity and enjoyed life fully. Her laugh was contagious, and her heart was beautiful. She especially loved her family well. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren, and she always showed up. She was quick to meet the needs of those around her with compassion. She was very involved with Women's Ministry at her church and was dedicated to sharing her passion of the Bible. She was strong and hilarious and content and never stopped studying the Word to know Jesus more. She loved pink flamingos, coffee, and shopping. She loved a clean car and reading. She loved going to the pool-especially with her grandchildren. She shared a love of kimchi and 1950's sci-fi with her husband, and she grew to like dogs. Gift giving was her love language and one of her most common phrases was, "I got you something!". She will be deeply missed, and her memories forever treasured.

I met Anita at Central downtown OKC when we went there for 7th and 8th Grade. We both went to high school at Classen Highschool and Graduated in 1976! Go Comets! We were roommates for a semester at Univ. of Central Oklahoma (it was Central State Univ) when we were there. We moved on in our lives and reconnected at our 20th high school reunion. We were both married by that time and Anita told me how happy she was, she said "she was exactly where she was supposed to be. " We moved on in our lives and reconnected over and over through the years. She was so proud of her children and happy in her marriage, I loved hearing her talk about her life. W e have been getting together for coffee and reminiscing and just sharing our lives. I could sit and talk to her for hours. I already miss you so much Anita, thank you for being my friend. Love you always Owl/Pink Flamingo girl. Go Comets!
