Anke Johanna Hinmon died peacefully in her sleep on August 26, 2025.
Anke was born on March 2, 1941, to Jacob and Annie Greeff in Amsterdam, Holland. She worked as a nurse at the University of Utah and LDS Hospitals. She loved working in the emergency rooms because of her giving nature. Later, she worked for Smith's grocery store distribution center for many years. Anke was a very hard worker and was very efficient and valued by her coworkers and her employer.
Anke was very driven and was very vocal about what she believed in. She always stood up for the underdog and was very giving to everyone. As an older sister, she took on the motherly role and helped raise her younger siblings. When visiting with her, you never knew if you would come home with a treat, soda, or a twenty dollar bill, but always something.
Later on in life, Anke began living at Twin Oaks, a senior care facility. This place was a godsend for her where her personality and warmth could be felt by many others. She loved the workers there and called them "her girls." Her sense of humor and her dry sarcasm were the highlight of everyone's day. She was dearly loved. We are so grateful for all those who helped with Anke and the friends she made there.
Anke's survived by her sisters Millie Layton, Heidi Wright, and Wendi Wright (Blake), brothers Jacob Greeff, Jr., and Roy Greeff (Debra), and her stepchildren and grandchildren that she dearly loved as her own.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hinmon, father, Jacob Greeff, Sr, mother, Annie Greeff, brothers, Remi Greeff, Hans Greeff.
A graveside service will be held at the Larkin Sunset Gardens at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 30, 2025. The service will be livestreamed via Zoom and can be accessed by clicking the "Watch Services" button above.
