Ann Lee Alley, born on September 7, 1939, in Faribault, MN was sent to her eternal home on July 25, 2025 at the age of 85. She passed peacefully after her five-year battle with Alzheimer's disease, surrounded by her family and friends at Region's hospital in St. Paul, MN. She was the beloved mother of Steven and Mark Alley.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Harold Zielske; mother, Emma Zielske (Reinke); sister, Carol Jean Seaberg; brother, Harold "David" Zielske; brother-in-law, Robert Seaberg; and nephew, Michael Zielske.
Ann is survived by her loving sons Steven Alley and Mark (Kym Gardiepy) Alley; grandchildren, Dr. Emma Alley and Lauryn Alle; sister-in-law, Arlene Zielske; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Ann was baptized on October 1, 1939, and confirmed her faith on March 29, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran in Faribault. She would remain a devoted Lutheran her entire life and became a member of St. James Lutheran Church in West St, Paul for over 60 years. Ann graduated from Faribault High School in 1957. She graduated in 1958 from the Red Wing School of Practical Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Ann married David Alley in June of 1960. They would divorce 18 years later. In addition to being a full-time mother, Ann was an LPN at Health Partners for over 25 years. She was a resident of West St. Paul for the last 60 years of her life and loved the house and the neighborhood that she lived in.
While nothing was more important to Ann than her family and faith, Ann had numerous other interests. Despite being partially deaf her entire life, she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Ann loved to cook and host family and friends for holidays and events at her house. She liked to play golf, bridge, and for a while, was an avid skier. She enjoyed gardening, antiquing, and finding a good buy at an estate sale.
Ann loved to go sailing on the family sailboat on Lake Superior. She also loved travel and went on many cruises with her other son Steven where she visited 5 continents and numerous countries. She fulfilled her life's dream to visit the Holy Land and walk in the footsteps of her Lord and Savior.
