Ann Marie Baird, a woman of immense love and creativity, intelligence and warmth, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October, 28, 2023 in Lansing, MI, the same city where she was born on May 10, 1962. A woman of strength and grace, Ann's life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family, her tireless service to her community, and her love for life's simple pleasures.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 203 E. First North St., Laingsburg, MI 48848. Pastor Ryan Hysell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5-8:00 PM as well as one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Born to Jerry and Jan (Berkel) Reeves, Ann's childhood in Bath laid the foundation for a life filled with love, laughter, and learning. She was the beloved sister of Gary (Kris) Reeves, Karen Reeves, Tom (Nicola) Reeves, Jim Reeves and Randy Reeves, and cherished by many nieces, nephews, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law. The bonds she formed with her siblings and extended family remained strong throughout her life, a testament to her nurturing spirit.
A graduate of Bath Community Schools, Ann continued her education at Lansing Community College, where she earned her associate degree. A woman of intelligence and diligence, she dedicated many years of her professional life as a judicial assistant for the Lansing Court System. Her colleagues remember her as a hardworking, dedicated professional with a keen sense of justice.
On January 8, 1983, Ann married the love of her life, Mark S. Baird, at the DeWitt Community Church. Together, they built a home in Bath, Michigan, where they raised their two sons, Brandon and Justin. The family was always at the heart of Ann's world, and she found immense joy in the love and laughter that filled their home. She was a doting grandmother to Olivia, Bentley, Madelyn, and Harper, who brought even more joy and happiness into her life. Ann was a cherished and thoughtful daughter-in-law to Stanley and Pat Baird.
Ann's love for her family was matched only by her passion for her interests. She delighted in the simple pleasures of life, such as gardening, cooking, and crocheting. Ann was a faithful member of Bath Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and was active in the AWANA Children's Group. She truly had a servant's heart throughout life; assisting in funeral luncheons and other church gatherings. She was also an avid reader, particularly of John Grisham novels, which she could often be found engrossed in during her spare time.
In addition to her family and personal interests, Ann had a special place in her heart for her pug, Zoe, and her dear friends, Annmarie and Mary Jo. Her friendships were deep and lasting, and those who knew her were touched by her kindness and warmth.
Ann's life was marked by love - for her family, her friends, her work, and her community. She was a woman of deep compassion and creativity, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement. Even in her passing, the love she shared continues to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
While we mourn the loss of Ann, we also celebrate her life and the joy she brought to those around her. She was a beacon of love and kindness, a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration for many. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the countless lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, a woman who played a significant role in her life. As we remember Ann, we also pay tribute to the love and wisdom that her grandmother imparted on her, qualities that Ann carried with her throughout her life.
In the words of her loved ones, Ann Marie Baird was a woman of love, creativity, and intelligence. Her life was a testament to these qualities, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we remember Ann, we celebrate a life well-lived, a woman well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

I cherished Ann. Her kindness and her strive for perfection were remarkable. I loved her but failed to share what a great influence she had on my life. Please know that your wife, mother, grandmother, sister or friend was an amazing individual and will not be forgotten by those she blessed. God bless and take care of you all.
