Kulpmont – Ann Helen Bartko, 97, passed away on May 6, 2025.

She was born in Shamokin on January 15, 1928, the daughter of Paul A. Bartko Sr. and Mary (Biros) Bartko. Ann was a lifelong resident of 849 Pine Street, Kulpmont.

Ann graduated from Kulpmont High School, class of 1946. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Feifer and later as a maintenance worker for the Kulpmont Borough in the former Wilson School.

A devoted member of the Church of the Holy Angels, Ann was well known for helping at the annual picnics making potato cakes and for singing in the choir at funerals. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling. Ann led a full and active life, working well into her 80s. She was a committed member of the Kulpmont Senior Center, serving as its president for several years. She also worked during elections until her health no longer allowed.

Ann had two brothers: Joseph, who was killed in World War II and is buried in France, and Paul Jr., who married Martha (Howanec) Bartko and had two sons. Her nephew, Paul A. Bartko III, is married to Judith (Breck) Bartko. They have a daughter, Heather, who is married to Eric Hubbs, who has two sons, Gavin and Brady. Her nephew, Michael Bartko, now deceased, has a son named Brian. All were fortunate to have Aunt Ann in their lives.

Ann touched many lives over her 97 years and will be deeply missed. Though many friends have gone before her, she is now reunited with them and her beloved family. She lived a rich, meaningful life and leaves behind many who loved her.

All are invited to a Funeral Mass held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating in the Church of the Holy Angels, Kulpmont. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, PA 17834. Arrangements are in care of C. J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont. To send condolences to the family, please visit www.cjlucasfuneralhome.com
