Ann Burke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 4, 2026.
Ann P. Burke, 98, of Middletown, New Jersey, joined her Lord on February 3, 2026. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was a long term resident of Middletown and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Ann was born in Scarsdale, NY to Francis and Vera Perryman. She attended Connecticut College in New London and while there, met her husband Douglas R. Burke, who was a cadet at United States Coast Guard Academy. While married, they had four daughters and settled in Middletown in 1961.
Ann was an active and devoted member of Christ Episcopal Church in Middletown. The church was an important focal point for her life for 65 years. She was one of the first women chalice bearers and lectors. Her enthusiastic and beautiful alto singing voice graced the choir. She was a living example of contributing "time, talent and treasure" to her community and her God.
Ann also treasured her time with family. After raising her four daughters, she found new joy in being involved with the lives of her three granddaughters. She also found satisfaction in working at Steinbach's and JC Penney in manager positions.
Ann will always be remembered for her quiet strength and positivity. She made a difference in this world.
Ann is survived by her daughters Sharon (Mark) Wolinsky; Mary Burke; Barbara Burke; and Kathleen (Gary) Clark as well as three granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters.
A memorial service is being planned for March 7 to be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Episcopal Church; Monmouth County ASPCA; or Visiting Nurses Association
