Elizabeth Ann (Maness) Coulter was born to Maurice Maness and Winnie Hodges on December 28, 1925. She went to her eternal home to be with her Lord and Savior April 4, 2024. She spent her childhood in Roxton, TX with her brothers, Richard and Thomas Maness. After high school, she and her brothers adventured to California to reunite with Maurice Maness, where she began college and met George Coulter, her future husband. She and George had four children, Duane, Maurice, Richard, and Kathy. They eventually settled in Denison, TX, where she spent most of her life. She worked as an accountant for George DeArmond CPA, as well as helping many friends and family with their taxes into her nineties. Ann was frequently found with her sorority sisters, playing bridge, gardening, or at Waples Methodist church. She was the most devoted and generous friend. Her greatest passion, though, was her family. Her children and grandchildren brought her immense joy. Every grandchild, and even the great-grandchildren, tells stories of how they were made to feel unique, special, and loved above all others when in "Mema's" presence. You wouldn't go to Mema's house and not sit down in her kitchen for a treat, and probably something else to go.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, George, her son, Duane, her brother, Tommy, her sister-in-law, Peggy, and their children, Leslie, and Carl Thomas.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Maness, and his wife, Betty Sue of San Antonio, her son, Maurice Coulter, and his wife, Kathy, of Denison, her son, Richard Coulter, and his wife, Lesa, of Denison, her daughter, Kathy Cates of White Oak. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren: Lucas Coulter, Stephen Coulter, Stacy Baecht, Brian Coulter, Ceresa Maki, Jeana Chetty, Erica Drieselman, Keith Cates, Richard Cates, Kel Cates, and Aaron Cates. She was immensely proud of the 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The memorial service will be at 1:00 PM Friday, April 19, 2024, at Waples Memoria United Methodist Church in Denison. Family and friends will gather to visit one hour prior to service time.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to Scottish Rite for Children. Scottishriteforchildren.org
