Ann Marie DeBerry of Gortner, MD was born on January 21, 1922, to the late Johnathan W. and Nellie B. (Davis) Baker. She departed this life to her eternal rest on October 21, 2022, while living with her daughter (Robin)and son-in-law (Denny) in Mtn. Lake Park, MD. She was 100 years old and affectionately called "Granny" by everyone.
She graduated from Oakland High School and worked as a bookkeeper for the Half Price Store, Flinn's Family Store, and the family's furniture store while raising six children. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oakland. She loved her church and always supported as she could. Ann enjoyed building puzzles and framing them for family gifts. She will be fondly remembered for holding family as her greatest pleasure.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Larry of Cape Coral, FL, Sandy Blizzard-Duvall of Walkersville, MD, Ron (Verlene) of Hampton, VA, Beverly Ford (Rich) of Bonita Springs, FL, and Robin Murray (Denny) of Mtn Lake Park, MD and Bonita Springs, FL; her grandchildren: Mark DeBerry, Steve DeBerry, Ashley DeBerry, Nicholas DeBerry, and Christopher DeBerry; Karen Blizzard (Steve Rempe), and Wade Blizzard (Courtney); Quentin DeBerry (Tonya) and Eric DeBerry (Tia); Sheila King (Brian), Tammy Tichinel (Dan); Jessica Savage (Kevin),and Adam Murray (Tathiana); twenty great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnathan and Nellie Baker, her husband, Orris, and her son Denny.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A. 21 North Second Street, Oakland on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 6 South Second Street, Oakland, MD on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 10 AM with Pastor Tom Omholt officiating.
Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 6 S. 2nd Street, Oakland, MD 21550.
