Ann Eifert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dale Woodward Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - Daytona Beach on Dec. 9, 2025.
Ann Marie (O'Brien) Eifert, born on February 25, 1933, in Baltimore, MD, passed away peacefully in Daytona Beach, FL on November 18, 2025.
Ann married Ernie Eifert on August 7, 1954, and moved to central Florida where they raised their family and built a strong community the family thrived in. For many years, Ann pursued her calling as a registered nurse and became acquainted with the back roads of Orange and Seminole Counties as a Visiting Nurse. Ann's patients frequently became members of the family, a natural extension of her compassionate care.
Retirement opened a new chapter of adventure for Ann and Ernie. Along with a spirited group of friends who dubbed themselves the "Old Farts", they traveled the world-from the Great Wall of China to the Old Course in Scotland, to the Sahara Desert in Africa to numerous cathedrals and museums in Europe. Whether skiing down mountains, hiking scenic trails, exploring ancient and modern sights or playing friendly but competitive card games, Ann enjoyed the friendship and fun.
In her later years, Ann remained active in her Ormond Beach community, volunteering at The Casements, the Garden Club and the Historical Society. She was frequently found in the Cupola at Fortunato Park giving tours and sharing its history. If you have a moment, pause at the bench near the playground in Fortunato Park dedicated to the memory of Ann and Ernie Eifert and you will feel the love and joy they took in creating a remarkable legacy.
Ann's greatest joy was her family. She cherished gatherings filled with laughter, stories and the simple pleasures of being surrounded by those she loved. She is survived by four children: Teresa Miller (Steve), Monica Burkett (Chuck), Jim Eifert (Beth) and Dan Eifert (Bonnie); 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, all of whom affectionately called her Nana.
The family will celebrate Nana's life in New Smyrna Beach, her Bali Hai, this summer. How blessed we are..
