Ann Gregory Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Goldsboro on Feb. 26, 2026.
Ann Mayo Gregory, 65, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 surrounded by her family. Born on March 24, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Jim Mayo and Ann Weldon Mayo.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her siblings, William Mayo and Nancy Mayo West.

Ann is survived by her loving husband, Carroll Gregory; children, Jennifer Ann Rush and Robbie Carroll Gregory; grandchildren, Shamya Davis, Nadia Davis, Anjelica Davis, Xavier Gregory, Nathaniel Gregory, and Jaden Gregory; siblings, Steve Southerland (Rita), Theresa Southerland Daves, James "Jimmy" Mayo, Jr., and Joyce Mayo. Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Ann was a woman of intelligence, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family. She passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, learning, and quiet strength that will live on in all who knew her.

Ann dedicated many years of her professional life to a career in IT. She approached her work with focus, determination, and a love of problem-solving. She believed deeply in the value of education and lifelong learning, always seeking to grow, understand, and improve. School and learning were not simply phases of life for Ann-they were lifelong passions that shaped who she was.

Above all else, Ann's greatest joy was her family-especially her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was taking them shopping, planning special outings, or creating lasting memories on vacations together. Her love for them was boundless, steady, and unconditional. Nothing made her happier than seeing them smile.

In her quieter moments, Ann found joy in reading, watching movies, and expressing her creativity through crafting. She had a thoughtful spirit and a gentle way about her, always ready to share a story, recommend a good book, or admire a handmade project.

Ann was also a devoted supporter of her family's business, the local radio station WDJS in Mount Olive. For many years, she faithfully managed the station's bookkeeping, working diligently behind the scenes to help ensure everything ran smoothly.

Ann will be remembered for her intelligence, her kindness, her dedication to learning, and most of all, her deep and abiding love for her family. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will forever be treasured.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided during this time, especially Summer Boyette, Ashelie Jones, and Leanne Sutton. Their kindness and professionalism brought comfort and peace when it was needed most.

A service to celebrate Ann's life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Muston presiding. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Interment services will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be directed to Gentiva Hospice, 2815 Carolina Commerce Dr D, Goldsboro, NC 27530 in memory of Ann.
