Ann Long Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Roan Family Funeral Home - Pembroke on Jan. 8, 2026.
CONCORD- Mrs. Ann J. (Johnson) Long, 88, of Concord, passed away at the Hanover Healthcare Center on January 4, 2026 after a period of declining health.

Born in Burlington, VT, Ann was the daughter of the late Miles Johnson and Shirley (Downs) Harrington. She was raised by her late step father Earle Harrington and educated in Vermont and resided there for most of her life before moving to New Hampshire in 1987.

For the first 10 years of her 54 years of marriage to her beloved Earl, Ann's devotion and support to him was unwavering, as they continuously were moving around the area as required for his work in heavy construction. In an era where "that was the way," Ann remained industrious and devoted to building a beautiful life for her family. They settled down after the birth of their children and remaining home to care for them and build them a loving home was paramount to Ann. Ann had a green thumb and loved gardening.

During this time, Ann began learning the Bible and attending meetings with Earl at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness. Their lives revolved around their faith, family and bettering their community.

She was predeceased by her husband, Earl F. Long, Jr., her son, Scott Long, and her brother, Forrest Johnson Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonita Long of Concord, her sister, Nancy Rivers and her late husband Richard St of Vermont, and her brother, Douglas Harrington and his wife Dori Harrington. In addition to several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, services and burial will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association or the Patient Activities Fund at Hanover Hill Healthcare Center.
