Ann was born on December 23, 943 in Harrisburg, PA to Gladys and Wilbert Wear. She studied Russian and French at Lycoming College. Upon graduation she spent two years in New York City but decided she didn't like the noise and the traffic. She then moved to Seattle to live with her sister whose husband worked for Boeing. That's when she met David, they were married on May 28, 1968. She was a stay-at-home mom raising two children and was an excellent cook. She never saw a flower she didn't like. She was at member of the south end Fuchsia society for many years. She got interested in Bonsai and a student for many years and eventually taught it and was a long-time member of a Bonsai study group. She is survived by her husband David, son Scott, and daughter Laura Brown (Chris), sisters Pru Schaffner and Jennifer Gilbert plus many nieces and nephews. There will be no memorial service. Donations in her name can be sent to Operation Nightwatch (PO Box 21181 Seattle WA 98111) or to Compass Housing Alliance (220 Dexter Av N Seattle, WA 98109).
