Ann Merrick, a cherished resident of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on March 30, 2026. Born on July 19, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio, Ann led a life distinguished by her sincerity, love of family, and an impeccable sense of style.
Throughout the years, Ann found great joy in selling Mary Kay products. Known for always speaking her mind with honesty, Ann offered a presence that was both straightforward and compassionate.
Family was the cornerstone of Ann’s life. She was a devoted mother to her daughters—Stacy (Gary), Lisa, and Jennifer (Brian)—and stepmother to Greg (Debbie) and Cindy (Jason). Her role as a grandmother was one she treasured deeply; she adored her grandchildren Wes (Danielle), Jessica (Andrew), Rachael, Michael (Nikki), Donald (Mary Emily), Jacob (Nikki), and Ashley, as well as numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The joy she found in her family was evident in every aspect of her life. Ann’s siblings—sisters Sally, Kathy, and Kay, and brother James—also held special places in her heart.
Ann embraced her faith with devotion, eagerly attending church services and keeping Christmas as her favorite time of year, a season she celebrated with warmth and enthusiasm. Her elegantly fashioned wardrobe and love for fashion were reflections of her vibrant personality and attention to detail, whether at a family gathering or community event.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence (Fritz) Long; her beloved husband, Delno Merrick, Jr.; her sons, Donald Eugene and Michael Allen; grandsons Paul and Austin; and great-grandson Logan. Their memories remain a lasting part of her legacy.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 11:00AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel. Family and friends may visit from 10:00AM until the time of service. Ann will be laid to rest at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia.
Ann Merrick’s life was marked by her earnestness, unconditional love for her family, and her enduring spirit. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue through those who knew and loved her.
