Ross Clark Obituary

Ross P. Clark, 94, of Moraine, Ohio, ran to Jesus on March 28, 2026 from Centerville, Ohio.

He was born on July 6th, 1931 in Exeter, Virginia. He was raised in a self-sufficient, hard working coal mining family. He learned how to be innovative and curious. He could “fix” anything. He left Virginia for the first time when he joined the Airforce in 1951 to proudly serve during the Korean conflict. He served in the 374th Installation Squadron in Japan. He then left the coal mine and moved to Moraine, Ohio in 1961 to be near his brothers and their families. Ross spent most of his adult life driving big rigs. He retired as a Teamster after 31 years. He was known for his ornery sense of humor. Ross enjoyed teasing and making others laugh. He was a hands-on dad. The family enjoyed shared experiences such as fishing, hiking, ball games, vacationing, fireworks, archery and much more. Ross was also a neighborhood dad. He routinely acquired objects to entertain the kids such as an operational coke machine in his backyard!

Ross became a Papaw in 1988. He embraced every minute with his grandchildren. The grandchildren adored him and looked forward to time with Papaw.

On April 1, 1976 Ross accepted Jesus as his savior. This decision defined the second half of his life. He was known for his service for the Lord, his great respect for the Bible, and his gratitude for a redeemed life.

Ross is survived by his wife of 69 years Opal, their children Sherry Moore (Bob), Robin Paul (Stan deceased), Matthew Clark (Kim), and Timothy deceased (Tami), grandchildren, Kayla Faulkner, Koutney Edwards (Luke), Dustin Paul, Amber Moore-Whiteman (Zach), Mattie Clark, Marissa Clark, Gracianna Clark, and Eaden Clark, great-grandchildren Abigail and Wyatt Edwards, and his deeply loved Clark and Lambert families who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents Poley and Millie Clark, his youngest son Tim, son-in-law Stan, his seven beloved siblings, family, and friends.

A visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 2, at Newcomer of Kettering. Visitation 5 -7 PM Service 7 PM

Graveside service, Friday, April 3, 2026 10 AM , Miami Valley Memory Garden, Centerville, Ohio. He will be buried with military honors.
