Ann Mitchell Obituary

Troy - Ann E. Mitchell, 83 years, of Troy, ME, passed away May 5, 2022, at her residence.
She was born October 24, 1938, in Waterville, Maine, the daughter of the late Vaughn and Geneva (Wentworth) Hurd.
Ann attended Freedom Academy graduating class of 1957. After graduation, she married Roger Mitchell and they settled on his Dairy Farm which they operated for many years while raising their family.
She loved watching the Boston Red Sox as well as putting puzzles together. Ann is remembered as a fantastic cook, one of her favorite treats to make was raised doughnuts. She looked forward to Cabbage Island Clam Bakes in Boothbay Harbor every summer.
Ann attended Quaker Hill Christian Church until COVID restrictions didn't allow for her to go. After losing her husband in 2004 her son Blaine became her caretaker until her passing.
She is predeceased by her parents and husband.
Ann is survived by her three children Blaine Mitchell of Troy, Russell Mitchell and wife Vickie of Troy, Melissa Mason and husband Christopher of North Carolina; grandchildren Tyler and Samantha Mitchell, and Phinnlea Mason; siblings Howard Hurd and wife Jewell, Maxine Hathaway and husband Clifton, Andrew Hurd and wife Judy.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Roger Cemetery on Rogers Road in Troy, Me.
Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.ripostafh.com
