Ann Marie (Stewart) Mountain, 89, of Southwick, Massachusetts, passed away on June 29, 2025 in Pine Point (Scarborough), Maine. Ann was born in Melrose, MA on July 18, 1935 to Marie and Anthony Stewart. She grew up in Pepperell, MA in a busy and loving household with eleven siblings: Larry, John, Jolie, Tom, Tony, Joy, Donny, Steve, Paul, Kathy, and Bill. She married Richard "Dick" Mountain of Groton, MA, in 1957 and enjoyed more than 41 years together in Southwick, MA where they raised children Rick (Kim), Stew (Erin) and Pam.
Ann earned her nursing degree at Burbank Hospital School of Nursing where she met her lifelong friend Joanie, interned in Manhattan, and was a registered nurse at Noble Hospital in Westfield, MA for many years. She was active in the Southwick community and after losing Dick in 1998, continued to live independently in her home, reading hundreds of audio books, acing Jeopardy, and enjoying wonderful comradery at the Southwick Senior Center.
She was a loving grandmother to Jeff, Matt (Chelsea), Kelly (Steve), Brian (Ashlee), Anthony (Julia), Jake (Elena), and Bennett. She adored her great grandchildren Leah, Ava, Nora, Addison, and Reagan. She had many amazing and supportive nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and doctors who were an integral part of her journey.
Visiting hours with Ann's family to celebrate her life will take place on July 18 between 4:00 to 5:30 at the Brass Rail Meeting House, in Southwick, MA. A private family dinner will follow from 5:30 to 7:00.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Perkins School for the Blind or the Southwick Senior Center.

Aunt Ann was always a source of brightness and lightness. She had that special sparkle that would always brighten your day. She was a great listener, empathetic and caring. You could always count on her for sound words of advice or suggestions. She was kind and loving to all. She will be missed deeply.
