Tamarack City: Ann Marie "Annie" (Beaudoin) Schmitt, 84, of Lake Linden, former resident of Tamarack City, passed away, peacefully with family by her side, at Our Lady of Mercy in Hubbell on January 21, 2026.

She was born March 24, 1941, a daughter of Gilbert and Claire (Falardeau) Beaudoin. She attended Sacred Heart School in Calumet.

Ann was the mother of six children. She worked at Our Lady of Mercy Nursing Home. With her sister, Pauline, they started B&B Dollar Tree at the Copper Country Mall, and, they went into business as florists. She also worked at the Ramada, Al's, and Louie's. She retired to be a grandma and great-grandma.

Ann was married to Melvin Schmitt on June 21, 1958 at the Sacred Heart Chapel in Calumet. He passed away on March 30, 2006.

She was a lifetime member of the Hubbell VFW #4624 Auxiliary and the Tamarack Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary.

Ann was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, daughter-Lynn and son-in-law John Lanyon, granddaughter-Paula Englund, brothers-Robert and Dennis Beaudoin, and sister-Pauline Butler.

She is survived by: children-Debbie (Mike) Codere of Minnesota, Brenda Englund of Lake Linden, Michael (Candie) Schmitt of Tamarack City, Renee (Tony) Salani of Laurium, Janet (Jeff) Dulong of Lake Linden; grandchildren-Tanya Codere, Billy (Jessica) Codere, Justin (Andrea) Lanyon, Jessica (Trevor) Lanyon, Michelle (Scott) Englund, Ellen (Garth) Englund, Joshua (Sarah) Schmitt, Danielle (Josh) Frantti, Ryan (Rachel) Salani, Ashley (Kyle) Saatio, and Brandon (Jen) Dulong; numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; brother-in-law-James Butler; her beloved four-legged companion-Lucy Lou; and many other friends and relatives.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 30 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with Father Raju Jose to officiate. Spring burial will be at the Lake View Cemetery in Calumet. Online condolences may be shared at www.pearcefuneralhome.com
