Obituary of Ann E. Sowle

Ann Elizabeth Sowle of Glastonbury passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at the age of 89.

She was born on April 18,1936 to Clifton and Hilda (Johnson) Sowle and grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She moved to Connecticut after graduating from New Bedford Vocational High School to work at the Underwood Typewriter Company in Hartford.

In 1954 she married Marcel Coderre and they made their home in Glastonbury where they raised their three children.

After years of being a homemaker she went back to work at Quality Name Plate in East Glastonbury and retired from The Aetna Insurance Company.

Her greatest joy was cheering on her seven grandchildren in all of their activities and taking them out for their "special" birthday lunches.

She is survived by her three children, Nancy (Mike) Lawlor, Diane (Charlie) Vest and Bruce (Katie Wright) Coderre and her seven grandchildren, Chaz (Liz) Vest, Alex (Anna) Vest, Becky (Glenn) Smith, Michael (Hillary) Lawlor, Jenn (Jamal Johnson) Lawlor, Colin (Kyra) Coderre and Kate (Steve) Mosley. She had 13 great grandchildren, Victoria, Alyssa, Mila, Colton, Pearl, Banks, Leighton, Lilyanna, Kairi, Roman, Willow, Reed and Brooke.

There will be a private burial service for the family in the springtime. For online condolences, please visit www.mulryanfh.com.
