Ann Watson Stevens of
Dallas, Texas passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born 1938 in Houston, she had fond memories of her time living on Dunstan Road and Huckleberry Lane. She graduated early from Lamar High School and went on to complete a degree in sociology at the University of Texas. During her time at UT, Ann was an active member of the Chi Omegas and was voted one of the Ten Most Beautiful Women at the university. She graduated in 1959, married in 1960, and began her family in 1961.
Throughout her life, Ann lived in a wide range of places, from Palo Alto, California to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and all-around Texas. In addition to raising her family, she owned a clothing shop, worked as a bookkeeper, and served her communities through various organizations including the PTA, school board, and volunteer groups.
Travel was a special part of Ann's life, and she visited many places around the USA, including Tennessee, California, Colorado, Lake Michigan, and Wyoming. She also traveled internationally from Mexico and the Caribbean to the Mediterranean and Australia. The Bahamas and Florida Keys were particularly special to her, and she made many special friends and had many wonderful adventures in boating communities there.
Ann was a member of the Mayflower Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. A lifelong Christian, she found a home church wherever she lived. Most recently, she enjoyed worshipping at Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown, Texas.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Jones; her father, Herbert Carroll Stevens; and her mother, Nancy Estelle Watson Stevens.
Survivors include brother Timothy Stevens and his wife Sylvia Metz Stevens of Fort Worth, and sister Margaret Stevens McIntosh and her husband John McIntosh, Sr. of Boulder, Colorado. She is also survived by daughter Carroll Lively Reeser and husband Mike Reeser of Dallas; son Mark Lively and wife Valerie Aman Lively of Conroe; and daughter Nancy Lively Small and husband John Small of Laramie, Wyoming. Her memory lives on through her grandchildren Katie Reeser Sales and husband Harrison Sales, Matthew Reeser, Melissa Lively Esteves and husband Luis Esteves, Hank Small, Jack Small, and Hannah Small, and through her four great grandchildren along with many cousins and extended family. She also is much missed by her beloved dog Lily.
