Christopher Michael Logsdon was born on October 10, 1974, in
Irving, Texas, to Gip Michael Logsdon and Pamela Ray Lawing Logsdon. Chris left his earthly home peacefully in his sleep on January 28, 2026.
Chris grew up in Arlington, Texas, alongside his sister, Brandy. They were faithful members of Mayfield Road Church of Christ, where his foundation of faith was formed early in life. He attended part of his high school years at Fort Worth Christian School, where he played football, before graduating from Lamar High School.
As a young adult, Chris pursued higher education, completing coursework at the University of Texas at Arlington and later at Freed-Hardeman University.
Chris spent his career in the construction world, working as a home builder, home remodeler, and most recently as the owner of his own pier drilling business. When people asked what he did for a living, Jennifer would often reply that he "played in the dirt." In truth, Chris worked incredibly hard. He had the mind of an engineer and an innate understanding of how machines worked-traits he came by honestly, having learned so much about vehicles and machinery from his father. He often creatively found ways to make repairs or built parts himself when needed.
Life was not always easy for Chris, and he faced many challenges along the way. Through it all, he kept his focus on Christ, and then on his boys, who meant everything to him.
In 2012, mutual friends introduced Chris and Jennifer, and it did not take long for them to be smitten with one another and to know that God had truly given them a second chance at true love. They were married on November 17, 2012, and combined households, bringing together five children, five dogs, and two cats. When the time came to move everyone under one roof, they each gave up a dog-since giving up one of the kids was never an option.
In all seriousness, they became their own version of the Brady Bunch. Blending a family of that size, with children ranging in age from 7 to 15, was not for the faint of heart, and it was not always easy.
Chris's love for Jennifer and for all of the kids is what held this beautifully messy family together. He was determined to love, to provide, and to guide his family with a gentleness that everyone who knew him has most likely experienced.
Chris was larger than life in everything he did. He was generous and kind, always quick to help others in any way he could. He was his mother's sunny boy and the source of laughter at every gathering. He lived well and loved fiercely.
Chris faithfully filled many roles throughout his life-devoted husband, loving father and bonus dad, son, brother, boss, and loyal friend. He wore each role with commitment and heart, but his newest role, and perhaps his favorite, was his promotion to Gran-gaddy, otherwise known as granddaddy.
Chris was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Ryan Barlett, and his father, Gip Michael Logsdon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; his children, Jackson Logsdon, Zachary Logsdon, Robert Eaton and wife Caleigh, Rebecca Kozar and husband Dylan; and his favorite little guy, his grandson Bane. He is also survived by his mother, Pamela Logsdon; his sister, Brandy Smith and husband Tod; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Chris's faith in Christ carried him through this life, and it is that same faith that now carries him home.
