Ann B. (Morgan) Thurber, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Elderwood of Scallop Shell in South Kingstown. Born on September 27, 1936, in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Brennan) Morgan.

Ann had an incredible work ethic. A trailblazer for a woman of her generation, she built a successful career as an executive/legal secretary and paralegal in several law offices, including the legal department for the City of Providence, where her professionalism, organization, and dedication were highly valued. Later in life, she opened a typing service business near Providence College, assisting both businesses and college students.

Outside of her work, Ann found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was an excellent cook and baker and an avid reader who could move through a book in no time flat, always eager to begin the next story. Nothing, however, brought her greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren. Caring for them and being part of their lives was one of her greatest joys.

Ann is survived by two daughters: Linda Cameron and her husband David of Charlestown, RI and Diann Miele and her husband David of North Kingstown, RI; four grandchildren: Christopher Farias, Jonathan Farias, Daniel Miele and Jessica Miele; two great-grandchildren: Harrison Farias and Maxwell Farias. She is also survived by two siblings: Thomas Morgan of West Warwick and Sandra Dessaint of New Hampshire.

The last year of Ann's life was spent at Scallop Shell, where the staff of the Memory Care unit not only gave her excellent care, but also were truly concerned for her wellbeing and quality of life. The support they showed the family near her passing was genuinely touching.

Ann lived a life marked by independence and determination. As so, and in accordance with her wishes, all services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's memory to Meals on Wheels America to support their mission of providing meals and companionship to seniors will be greatly appreciated.
