Ann Carol Ziemkiewicz

Ann Carol Ziemkiewicz, 83, passed away on August 7, 2025 in Brick, NJ. She was born on July 26, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ.
Carol was a long time resident of Rutherford, NJ and a cherished third-grade teacher at Pierrepont School. She touched the lives of many students and colleagues and retired after 30 years of service in 2003.
Carol enjoyed her retirement years living in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ where her love for the
beach and the community was evident. She was a beloved figure in both Rutherford and Point Pleasant Beach, known for her warm spirit and engaging personality.
She is survived by her children, Matthew and wife Colleen, Carin; grandchildren, Robert and James; and her sisters, Christine Calandra and husband Paul, Janet Zdanowicz; and companion, Richard Grath. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Waclaw Zdanowicz and Ann Waselewski; and her daughter, Jill, who passed away in 1996 on TWA Flight 800.
Her legacy as an educator and a loving family member will be cherished by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends Tuesday August 19th from 2:00 to 6:00pm at the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. Funeral Wednesday 12:00pm Mass of Christian Liturgy at the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Ave., Rutherford.
