ANNA BELLE BOWMAN GILL, 100, passed away March 11, 2025, at Daisy Hill Senior Living in Versailles, Kentucky. Born and raised in Woodford County, Kentucky, on July 10, 1924, Anna Belle was the daughter of William Alonzo Bowman and Stella Mae Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ewell Eugene Gill, and her first husband, Samuel C. Riddle, as well as her sons, Michael Eugene Gill and William Denny Riddle. Anna Belle was also preceded in death by thirteen siblings, Lawrence Douglas Bowman, Edith Marticia Bowman Carter, Annetta Mae Bowman Robinson, William Alonzo Bowman, Jr., Alford Edwin Bowman, Lora June Bowman Serber, John Martin Bowman, Sr., Lila Pearl Bowman Goins, Laura Bowman Robinson, Kelly Kenneth Bowman, Catherine "Kitty" B. Riddle, Alma Jean Bowman Warford, and Goldie Winford Bowman.
With a life spanning over a century, Anna Belle passed away, leaving behind a profound legacy of family, love, and wisdom. She witnessed an entire century of change and growth, and through it all, her values of strength, family, and serving God remained unwavering. A true matriarch, she saw the world change in ways most could never imagine, and her impact will be felt for generations to come. Her memory will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know her.
Anna Belle is survived by her son, Sammy (Vicki) Riddle and her daughter, Peggy (Ed) Crum; her fifteen grandchildren, Jason (Tiffany) Riddle, Michele (James) Charas, Missy (Gary) Means, Shane (Suzette) Riddle, Geri (Timmy) Ball, Sara (Paul) Slusher, Bryan Atwood, Becky (Jeff) Johnson, Bryan Crum, Bruce (Kari) Crum, Katie (Jeff) Kees, Michael Gill, Benjamin (Elizabeth) Gill, Ryan Gill, and Joshua (Jeslyn) Gill. Anna Belle was blessed with many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who brought her much joy.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Clark Legacy, Frankfort, Kentucky. Pastor Joe Collins and Pastor Kenny Robinson will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort, Kentucky. Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Crum, Bryan Crum, Jeff Johnson, Michael Gill, Benjamin Gill, Ryan Gill, Joshua Gill, Jeff Kees, Jason Riddle, Shane Riddle, Gary Means, James Charas, Jeff Serber, Timmy Ball, Paul Slusher, and Bryan Atwood.
If unable to attend in-person service, you are invited to attend the Live Broadcast Service at 1:00pm on March 21, 2025, by going to the Clark Legacy Center Facebook page.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith Baptist Church, Versailles, Kentucky.
