Anna Cecchi, 91, of Palatine, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Anna was the heart of her family-a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and humor touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved children, Debbie, Karen (Gary) Ambrose, Linda (Walter) Splitt, and Steven (Linda); her cherished grandchildren, Kristin (Shane) Cook, Eric (Celeste), Marc (Bianca), Stan (Annie), Brock, Grace, Brian (Lauren), and Chrissy (Brian); and ten adored great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert; her dear grandson Justin; her parents, Anthony and Lina Betti; and her brother, Albert Betti.
Anna was a wonderful mother and an incredible caregiver, always putting others before herself. She had a lifelong love of baking and took pride in tending her garden, finding peace and joy in nurturing both people and plants. Her lifelong love also extended to the good ole Chicago Cubs. Creative and resourceful, she had a talent for making ordinary moments special. Fluent in Italian, Anna remained deeply connected to her heritage, often sharing stories, expressions, and traditions that enriched her family's lives.
Known for her warm spirit, Anna was a good sport with a quick wit and an infectious laugh. She brought lightness and laughter into any room, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Prayers will be offered at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a procession to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N. Benton St., Palatine, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
