Anna Loretta Fouts

Anna Loretta (Whitaker) Fouts, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Ashgrove Woods in Nicholasville, KY. Loretta was born March 13, 1933 to Jane and Bige Whitaker, in Portersburg, KY. In March, 1951, Loretta married John Robert Fouts and spent the next 20 years moving up and down the east and west coast of the United States as a Navy wife, caring for her children and running the household, while John was often away on duty. She said it was an exciting time for her, as she got to meet a lot of new people, moving 21 times in 20 years.

After leaving the Navy they settled for a few years in North Carolina before f inally moving back home, near London, KY. While in London, Loretta worked for the Cumberland River Comprehensive Care Center, where she retired. Her hobbies included reading (especially her Bible) and "treasure hunting" at yard sales and flee markets.

She is survived by her sons John and Tom, grandchildren Matthew (Dario Reyez) Love and Samantha (Ben) Carroll, and great grandchildren Jude Carroll and Liam Carroll. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Fouts, and two sons, William Donald Fouts and Randy Steven Fouts.

The family of Loretta Fouts will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Bowling Funeral Home.
