Dennis Walter "Trae" Johnson III

Dennis Walter "Trae" Johnson III, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, was born April 13, 2006, in London, Kentucky. He was the beloved son of Dennis Walter Johnson II and Kindra Ellington Johnson, both of London.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three siblings, Kayelynn Amburgey and husband Ovis of East Bernstadt, Monique Johnson and husband Jay and Molique Johnson, all of London. He also leaves behind his grandmother, Teresa Ellington of Somerset, Kentucky; his grandfathers, Kenneth Ellington and wife April of East Bernstadt, and Dennis Walter Johnson, Sr. of Virginia; his great-grandmother, Diane Baker of East Bernstadt, three God Siblings, Bronson Baker, Kaybree Baker and Jacob Johnson.

He is further survived by his niece, Kaiya Johnson, and his nephews, Liam Riley and Owen Amburgey, to whom he was lovingly known as "Uncle BB." He is also survived by his uncles, Chris Smith, Kenneth Cameron Ellington and wife Destiney, Knowledge Ellington, and Tyler Salva; and his aunts, Kendall Ellington, Madison Sturgill, Keyona Ellington, Halo Ellington, and Kim Betts. Trae is also survived by his girlfriend, Makayla Muncy, along with a host of other family members and friends who will deeply mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathleen Johnson.

Trae worked for Triple R Electrical Contracting. He lived life to the fullest and loved riding his RZR, spending as much time outdoors as he could. Known for his kind heart and willingness to help others, Trae would do anything for anyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever he was asked.

Dennis Walter "Trae" Johnson III departed this life on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the age of 19 years, 11 months, and 2 days.

The funeral service for Trae Johnson will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with John Miles, Terry Jackson and Josh Durham officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm Saturday until the funeral hour of 2 pm at Bowling Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Bowling Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
