William "Bill" Charlie Gaskin was born on September 29, 1936, in Russell Springs, Kentucky to the late Dewey Lee Gaskin and Lucy Ovalene Ford Gaskin.

Bill was united in 65 years of marriage to his loving wife, Mary Rose Roark Gaskin, who survives.

He is also survived by his eight children: Vanessa Campbell and husband Butch of Gray, Kentucky, Vonell Beach and husband Robert, William Charlie Gaskin, Jr. and wife Cindy, and Wayne Gaskin and wife Jeannette, all of London, Kentucky, Rosemary Batshe' and husband Michael of Lily, Kentucky, Rebecca Cathers and husband Derrick of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, Abigail Gaskin (Brad) of Louisville, Kentucky and Vonetta Gaskin (Jason) of Brodhead, Kentucky, 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory.

In addition to his parents; he is also preceded in death by his four siblings; Evelyn, Maxine, Willie Lee and Fred all of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bill worked for 20 years as a No. 1 Industrial Machinery mechanic at Stokely Van Camp in Indianapolis, Indiana. After moving to Kentucky he dedicated 11 years as a custodian at Laurel County Junior High.

Bill was known for his wooden cross ministry which allowed him to witness to people about the love of Jesus. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. At home he was always tinkering with projects and adding his own personal upgrades to things around the house. He loved having many American flags waving in his front yard while spending time on his hobby of feeding birds and squirrels.

William "Bill" Charlie Gaskin, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 5 days of age.

The funeral service for William "Bill" Charlie Gaskin, Sr. will be conducted at 11 am Saturday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with William Charlie Gaskin, Jr. and Alex Batsche' officiating. Burial will follow in the Gaskin Cemetery in Russell Springs, Kentucky.

The family of of William "Bill" Charlie Gaskin, Sr. will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home from 6 pm to 9 pm Friday.

Serving as Pallbearers: Robbie Beach, Ryan Campbell, Sam Gaskin, Travis Gaskin, Justin Cathers, Isaac Thompson, David Gaskin and Josh Cathers.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Charlie Dewayne Simmons and Alex Batsche'
