Anna Christine Idarola, of Northford, was called to eternal rest on September 28th, 2025, following a prolonged illness. She was born on August 23rd,1950, in New Haven, CT, the daughter of the late William Idarola Sr. (Ret. Chief Inspector, NHPD) and the late Rose (Esposito) Idarola. She spent her early years on Wooster Street, in New Haven's Little Italy where she earned the nickname "Annie Get Your Guns" for the Annie Oakley toy pistols she proudly wore as a little girl.
Anna worked tirelessly throughout her career as a hairdresser and cosmetician. She owned and operated her own salon, Kristen Alexandria's, and she dedicated her life's work to making others look and feel beautiful. Often a loving and compassionate ear to her customers, friends, and family, she was a giving person in all aspects of her life. Anna was a devout Catholic who lived her life honoring God and her faith. She was also a gifted poet and singer, whose deep passion for family and good humor was driven by creativity, spirit, and a quick, clever wit.
Anna was the granddaughter of the late Anthony "Washboard Tony'" and Elizabeth (Morsh) Idarola, and the late Salvatore and Carmella (Amore) Esposito, all of New Haven, CT. Anna was deeply rooted in the Italian traditions and values passed down through generations and was predeceased by many beloved members of her extended family.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Kristen (Kowalski) Russell and her spouse Bruce Latourelle, her two grandchildren, Charlotte and Adele Russell; and her daughter's adoptive mother, Donna (Shages) Kowalski all of Granby, CT. Anna is also survived by her two brothers, William Idarola Jr. (Sharon Comasi) of Baltic, CT, Anthony Idarola (Patricia Thomas); her niece and honorary daughter, Michelle Idarola, all of Northford, CT; Anna leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, she was especially grateful for time she shared with her great nieces Brianna and Sophie, and great nephew Trevor, nephew Nick and niece Alysha, all of whom helped in her care.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd. in
North Branford, CT on Saturday, October 4th, from 12:00 to 2:00p.m., with a service to be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at All Saints Cemetery
