Barbara L. Karney, 80, of North Branford, CT, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 28th, 2026. She was born on May 25th, 1945, in New Haven, CT to the late Robert Manns and Josephine (Matto) Manns.
During her life, Barbara, "LuLu", loved to shop, do home renovation projects, going to the gym, getting her nails done, cruises, traveling to Aruba and going out to eat with her many friends and family. She worked most of her career as a bank teller, mainly in Northford Center.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband Donald L. Karney, Sr.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Kelly Prunier (Paul) and her son Donald L. Karney, Jr., along with three grandchildren.
A special mention to Kenneth Jasudowich and Ronald Onofrio whom she loved as her own sons.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Keenan Funeral Home in North Branford on Friday, February 13th from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Augustine Church in North Branford, Saturday, February 14th at 10 a.m. Burial will follow to Riverside Cemetery in Shelton at 11:30 a.m.

Barbara was a Derby High School classmate of mine. I will always remember her smile which lite up a room...My deepest sympathies to her loved ones. May she rest in peace..

Such a wonderful friend. A kind soul with an amazing style... she loved their walks and chats.... And more recently shown her love coming to my own husband´s service... your cards & kindness will never be forgotten..
