ANNA KELLY Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 6, 2025.
Anna L. "Ann" Kelly, age 95, formerly of Coxsackie, NY peacefully went home to be with our Lord on 3 October 2025 in Palm Bay, FL.

Ann was born in Athens, NY on July 24th, 1930, the daughter of Alfred Kniffen and Mildred (nee Scott) Kniffen. She married Gene H. Kelly on October 16th, 1949, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Coxsackie, NY. They had four children together and celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary in 2018 two months before her husband passed away.

In her youth, Ann was a majorette in a drum and bugle corps and served as her high school class treasurer. She also was a member of St. Mary's Rosary Altar Society in Coxsackie, NY. Ann was employed by the A&P Company before she started working on her own installing wallpaper and decorating home interiors. She and Gene moved to Barefoot Bay, FL shortly after Gene's retirement in 1990. Ann loved living in Florida and was fiercely independent. She lived alone in her home until she became ill a couple weeks before she passed. Ann was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Coxsackie, NY and St. Luke's Catholic Church in Barefoot Bay, FL.

Ann was predeceased by her parents, sister Dorothy Nethaway, brother Albert Kniffen, brother Robert Kniffen, her husband Gene, daughter Kathleen Kelly, grandson Christopher Kelly and great grandson Gavin Schindler. She is survived by son Kevin and Rosella Kelly of Richmondville, NY; daughter Karen and Jerry Frisbee of O'Fallon, IL; and son Karl Kelly of Jacksonville, FL. Ann is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In keeping with Ann's wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date in Coxsackie, NY. She will be interred at St. Mary's Cemetery in Coxsackie.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ann's memory to Hospice of Health First, Inc., 1900 Dairy Rd., Melbourne, FL 32904.
