Anna Faye Kershner, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and caring that will continue to fill the hearts of all who knew her.
Faye is survived by her six children: Bonnie Valind, Michelle Barber, Sherry Twaits, Tonya Sharpnack, Michael Twaits, and Christopher Kershner. She was the proud grandmother of John Coleman, Heather Valind, Allen Patrick, Tala Kershner, and Dakota Kershner, and great grandmother of Cadence Patrick. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Alice Sowry, Edie Cooper, and Sally Mcgriff. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years George Washington Kershner III.
In her younger years, she worked as a typesetter with local newspapers in Delaware. She later built a long and impactful career as a paraprofessional within the Lake Forest School District, touching the lives of the students that came through the classroom she was part of.
Among her interests she had a passion of creativity in sewing and watercolor painting. She enjoyed a deep love for all things in nature and would spend many mornings enjoying watching birds from the breakfast table.
While she may no longer be with us, the lessons she taught us and the love she shared will never fade.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where friends may visit with the family from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
