Anna (Damiani) LaTorre passed away peacefully Thanksgiving morning at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Castel di Lama, Italy in 1932 and immigrated to the United States in 1935 with her family. They settled in Camden, NJ, where she graduated in 1950 from Camden High School as a member of the National Honor Society. She moved to Vineland when she married the love of her life, Victor LaTorre, Sr. in 1956. She and Victor, with his brothers John and Rocco, started LaTorre Delsea Hardware that same year.
She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her entire family and anyone else who happened to come by. She was an avid shopper and loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was very active in the community. She was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality at Mt. Carmel Church in Camden. Anna was very active in Sacred Heart Parish, serving as a member of the Parish Council and PTA. She was President and a member of the Vineland Board of Education for many years, the Republican Women's Organization and other charitable organizations.
In later years, she enjoyed playing pinochle with her friends and spending winters in Hallandale Beach, FL.
Anna leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Victor, Jr. (Laurie)of Vineland; daughters Carmella Cheesman (Douglas) of Vineland, and Deborah Tarran (William) of Pacifica, CA. She also leaves her adored grandchildren, Michael Nitsche, Jr. (Ann), Michael LaTorre (Natalie), Joshua Nitsche (Christine), Giacomo Nitsche (Brianna), Gabriel Tarran, Benjamin Tarran, and Brigete Nitsche. She was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Rosie, Claire and Victor Jeffrey. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Frances Reuss, along with many nieces, nephews and her special caregiver Nelly Velez. She was predeceased by her husband Victor LaTorre, Sr.; parents Luigi & Santina Damiani; brothers Joseph (Elizabeth) and Emidio (Giovanna) and her sisters Vincenza (Carlo) and Elena (Daniel).
