Anna Marie Lento

Anna Marie Lento, age 85, a longtime resident of Cherry Hill and more recently Voorhees, died peacefully on August 24th, 2025. Anna Marie was the beloved wife of Robert Lento for 63 years and leaves behind a wonderful legacy of children and grandchildren.

Born in Eboli, Italy in 1939, Anna Marie was the daughter of the late Maddalena and Anthony Giarletta and sister of the late Angelo Giarletta. She immigrated from Italy in 1946 along with her mother and brother and they settled in East Orange. She graduated from Marylawn High School in 1958 and Cabrini College in 1962 with a bachelor's degree in education. Anna Marie married Robert Lento and raised their three children in West Orange, Linwood, and then Cherry Hill for 35 years.

Anna Marie was a loving, devoted wife and mother who took great care in raising her three children. As they grew older, she returned to work as a teacher where she taught for over 35 years. She was a devout Catholic and a woman of great faith who had an active prayer life. As a parishioner for over 47 years at St. Thomas More Church, she served as a Eucharistic Minister, the Spiritual Director of the Women's Club, and Co-Director of the bereavement ministry.

She dedicated most of her free time to her husband, children, grandchildren and ministries. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with treasured friends.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, and her children Laura Gaffney (Doug), Rob Lento (Cindy), and Lynn Quigley (Tom). She is also survived by her four grandchildren Andrew Gaffney, Emily Gaffney, Caroline Quigley, Matthew Quigley and beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:45 am, on Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1439 Springdale Rd, Cherry Hill Township, NJ 08003. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am, at the church. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin.
