Anna Lou Matuszek, 92, of Allouez, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on September 21, 2024. She was born on August 25, 1932 to Harold and Rose (Kraus) Engeldinger in Auburndale, WI. Anna Lou was a graduate of Messmer High in Milwaukee. On February 12, 1955, she married the boy next door, Clarence Matuszek, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Milwaukee; they were blessed with six children and enjoyed 67 years of marriage. She was a person of faith and an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Community for 56 years. Anna Lou and Clarence loved to travel; some of their favorites included: Las Vegas, South Dakota, Germany and Poland. Anna Lou loved to play Rummy Royal with her family and take their nickels. She treasured time spent with her family and friends.
Anna Lou is survived by her loving children: Rosanne (George) Van Cura, David (Lori) Matuszek, Daniel (Kerry) Matuszek, Paul Matuszek, and Christine (Scott) Kugler; eight grandchildren: FayeAnne Matuszek, Brianna (Matt) Emmer, Brittany Matuszek, Adam Matuszek, Kaitlyn Kugler, Madi (David) Kuesel, Jason LaLuzerne, and Jessica LaLuzerne; five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; she is further survived by nieces, nephews, her cat, JB, and many dear friends. Anna Lou was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Stephen, and four siblings: Harry, Duane, Delores, and Kathleen.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. Matthew Catholic Community, 130 St. Matthews Street, Green Bay, from 9:30 am until 10:45 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with Father Bob Kabat officiating. Private entombment will take place at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Feed My Starving Children-Green Bay or Wisconsin Humane Society-Green Bay Campus.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rennes Health and Rehab, Unity Hospice, and Home Instead for all their care, comfort and support that was provided to Anna Lou and the family.
