Anna Lukens Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Inc. - Lansdale on Dec. 16, 2025.
Anna Margrethe Lukens passed away peacefully this morning after being in hospice for the past month. She had observed her 90th birthday on May 18, 2025 with a family celebration at the William Penn Inn. She is survived by her husband Ted (C. Edward) Lukens of more than 68 years, daughter Linda R. Landis, son Peter A. Lukens and wife Patricia and son Mark T. Lukens and his wife Marian. Five grandchildren include Brian C. Landis, with wife Czsarina, Kathleen A. Doran, with husband Andrew, Sean P. Lukens, Sera A. Lukens and Daniel S. Lukens.

Anna was born in Vordingborg, Denmark in 1935, later moving to Rodovre, a suburb of Copenhagen. She and her family endured the Nazi occupation without any serious consequences, although her father apparently was part of the secret Resistance Movement. Her sister, Merete Lund-Larsen and husband Erik still reside in Denmark.

Anna and her husband vacationed with their children and Ted's family at Cape May, New Jersey for a number of Years. When the children were grown up, they bought a condo in St. Pete Beach, Florida and ventured there by Auto Train in Fall and Spring to enjoy the warmer weather and the beach. She worked a variety of jobs in her life, including secretary for an investment firm, personal companion and model home coordinator. She loved to cook and bake and she was very skilled in the kitchen. She also loved spending time with her 5 grandchildren and enjoyed babysitting when they were younger.

One hour visitation at Plains Mennonite Church, 50 W. Orvilla Road, Hatfield, will begin at Noon, with Services at 1 PM, Saturday, December 27. Burial will be private.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in Anna's memory to Shriners Children's Hospital or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
