Anna Varone – Maccarone, 78, entered peacefully into eternal life on November 8, 2024.
Born in Calabria, Italy, Anna came to the United States when she was six years old and helped her parents assimilate to the United States. Anna resided with her husband and family in Hamilton Square, NJ for most of her life. She worked in the accounts payable department at the McGraw Hill Book Publishers in Hightstown, New Jersey for 38 years. Anna loved her family and enjoyed gardening, travel and shopping. She was an avid "fashionista".
Anna is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Caterina Varone, her husband Michael Maccarone, and her niece Laura Varone. She is survived by her loving daughter Nicole Maccarone, her son-in-law Tom Epler and only granddaughter Catherine - who was the light of her life; and her beloved daughter Michelle Maccarone of Bel Air, California. Anna was always a very proud mother and advocate of her daughters' dreams and accomplishments. She is also survived by her loving twin brothers Joseph Varone and Anthony Varone, and his wife Helen Varone. Anna was 12 years old when her brothers were born, and she was the best big sister anyone could ever have. She watched over and cared for her brothers her whole life and will be deeply missed by them. Anna is also survived by her dear sister Catherine Collins and brother-in-law Keith Collins, and her nephews, Jared Collins and Christian Collins and their families; and by Cheryl Wospil, her very dear friend for over 50 years. Ann's love and her smile will forever live on in the hearts and memories of all those whose lives she touched.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 E. State St. Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Anna's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
