Anna Mackin

Anna Mackin, 82, of Colorado Springs, passed away Friday January 9, 2026 at Penrose Hospital with her daughter and grandson by her side. She was born February 27, 1943 in Jersey City, NJ.

Anna was employed by Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs for 33 years. She began working in the x-ray department as Clerical Supervisor in the late 1970's and transitioned to the Mammography department as she neared retirement.

She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Swim, grandson Austin McDaniel, and son-in-law Michael Swim, all of Colorado Springs; sister Olga Dutton of Florida; brother-in-law George Mercincavage, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joseph and Kathy Mackin, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Margaret and David Kucera all of New York; sister-in-law Madaline Noleen of Arizona; sister-in-law Georgianna Combs of Alabama; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Anna is predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate of 42 years Gerald Edward Mackin, her parents Michael Rushana and Anna Sawczyn Iwankiw, step-father John Iwankiw, father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Gertrude Mackin, brother and sister-in law John and Kay Rushana, sister Mary Mercincavage, brother-in law John Dutton, brother-in-law and sister-in-law James and Rosemary Mackin, brother-in-law and sister-in-law William and Trudi Mackin, brother-in-law and sister-in-law John and Geraldine Mackin, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Gertrude and Leroy Jenkins, brother-in-law John Noleen, one niece, and three nephews.

Anna was an active member of Cornerstone Church in Colorado Springs where she volunteered in the office, on the Hospitality Committee, Vacation Bible School (VBS), the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Shoe Box program, and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (SBDR) "Fire Cleanup/Ash Out" and "Flood Relief" programs. She had a servant's heart and was loved by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Cornerstone Church 1409 Palmer Park Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80909
