Anna McMahen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC on May 1, 2024.
Anna (Skwara) McMahen, 95, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at her home.
Born October 11, 1928 in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late John and Barbara (Kohut) Skwara.
Anna was a lifelong and oldest female resident of Kingston. She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she had been an active volunteer. Prior to her retirement, she had been a dental assistant at the offices of Drs. Hansen & Torba. She was a member of the Kingston Ladies Auxiliary and was instrumental in its founding. Anna was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan and enjoyed playing bingo, trips to the casino, and especially scratch-off tickets with her "lucky" scratching coin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. McMahen; six brothers, Steve, Charles, Joseph, Nicholas, Michael, and John Skwara; and two sisters, Mary Peltz and Catherine Skwara.
Anna is survived by one son, Dan McMahen of Jessup, MD; two daughters, Diana "Sue" Eaglehouse, and her husband Don, of Latrobe, and Debbie McCurdy, and her husband Larry, of Raeford, NC; five grandchildren, Jennifer Kellner (Nick), Ashley Palmer, Jeffrey Eaglehouse, Sherry Murtaugh (Mike), and Melissa Delancey (Kevin); nine great-grandchildren, Jayden, Zachary, Jamari, Alexis, Ronnie, Felicia, Kayla, Shawn, and Cullen; six great-great-grandchildren, Kyrin, Turner, Emersyn, Elliott, Autumn, and Kinsly; two sisters-in-law, Marie Skwara and Andrea Laughlin; and she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mitch and Melanie Skwara as well as Medi Home Hospice for all of their kind and compassionate care and support.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 PM Friday at the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. Panachida service will be held at 9:15 AM Saturday at the funeral home followed by the funeral liturgy at 10 AM Saturday at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church with the Rev.
