Anna Mosena Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Healy Chapel Funeral & Cremation Services - Aurora Facility on Jun. 15, 2024.
Anna Maria Cozzi Mosena, 93, passed away on June 11 in Aurora, Illinois where she lived since 1979. She was born on September 4, 1930 in Florence, Italy to Ezio and Eugenia Cozzi.
She had many talents and interests, including a passion for dance from a young age that eventually led her to become an Arthur Murray dance instructor, bringing joy to many through her exceptional teaching. She also was a successful business woman working several years in the fashion industry with Queens Way to Fashion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mosena, who passed away in January 2008. He served as an executive for the Aldi Corporation for more than 40 years, and the company's "Mama Cozzi Pizza" was inspired by Anna's maiden name.
She was deeply proud of her Italian heritage and happily shared her love of her native culture, cuisine and traditions with her family and friends. She enriched the lives of all who knew her with her warm spirt, zest for life and dedication to her loved ones.
Anna is survived by her three children – Les Landes, Lorane Seymour, and Deborah Mosena. She had six grandchildren – David Gapen (deceased), Christopher Gapen, Maria Boone, Eric Landes, Rachel Betthauser and Courtney Dyke. She also had eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and the many lives she touched.
Condolences can be sent to The Healy Chapel at healychapel.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given with our gratitude to one of Anna's favorite charities, including ASPCA, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Children's Hospital.
A celebration of her life will be held in Aurora on Saturday, August 17 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. Contact the family or The Healy Chapel for more details.
