Anna J. Nichols

Charlton: Anna J. (Metras) Nichols, 101, of Masonic Home Rd., passed away on December 5th, at The Overlook, after a brief illness.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, Gerard J. Nichols in 2003. She leaves her sons, Arthur Nichols and his wife Nancy of Clear Spring, MD, Francis Nichols and his wife Susan of Dudley, Richard Nichols and his wife Cathy, George Nichols and his wife Cindy of CA, and Paul Nichols and his wife Barbara of Dudley; her daughter, Clara Kachinski and her husband Paul of Greenwood, IN; sisters, Jeanne Fortin of Farmington, CT and Alice McKinney of Lyndonville, VT; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Anna was predeceased by her son, Robert Nichols, brothers, Moise Metras, Onil Metras, and Rene Metras, sisters, Eva Domijan, Cecile Gaboriault, Theresa Metras, Lucie Metras, Rita Lantagne, Madeline Goodsell, and Irene Innie.

Anna was born in Montreal, Quebec the daughter of Dalma and Marie A. (Moquin) Metras.

Anna was a member of the DAV Auxiliary in Southbridge, MA. Her hobbies included gardening, canning fruits vegetables, sewing and cross stitching. Her greatest joy was spending time with family. She was known as "memere" by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Anna will be private. There are no calling hours.

Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing the arrangements.
