Anna Martha Stanbrough, 92, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the home of her son in Newbern, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth and cherished memories
Born Thursday, August 4, 1932, in Finley, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Bedford Forrest McBride and the late Myra McDerman McBride.
Anna dedicated thirteen years of her life working at Sylvania before embracing her role as a devoted homemaker. She found great joy in baking, especially sweets, and took immense pride in her flowers, gardening, and canning the vegetables she lovingly grew.
She treasured time spent with family, and gatherings were always filled with laughter and stories that will be forever remembered. A woman of deep faith, Anna was a devoted member of Fort Hudson Baptist Church for over twenty years, where she found strength, community, and purpose.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, love, and passion for life will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stanbrough will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Fort Hudson Baptist Church. Officiating this service will be Rev. Roy Rainey, Mr. Jerry Patton and Rev. Don Layman. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Fort Hudson Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Malcolm Harris (Ruby) of Newbern, Tennessee and Mark Harris (Donna) of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Dr. Mitzi Harris Smith (Herb) of Blytheville, Arkansas; she was "Grandma and "MeMaw" to six grandchildren, Ashley Gallant (Kody), Chris Smith (Emily), Robert Harris, Martha Jane Harris (Sean), April Gibbons(Kenny, Hollie Rogers and Alison Brooks (Brad) and her ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Shirley Malcolm Harris and Marion Ralph Stanbrough, two sisters, Beatrice M. Permenter and Vivian Cooper and seven brothers, Reynold Byron McBride, Hunter McBride, Woodrow W. McBride, Will Madison McBride, Leon McBride, John Edward McBride and King Newton McBride.
Honoring Mrs. Stanbrough as pallbearers will be John Gregory, Teddy McBride, Jeff McBride, James Permenter, Robert Harris and Chris Smith.
