Predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Anne Stanbrough.
Survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Diane Stanbrough. Children, Jennifer Stanbrough, Michael Stanbrough. Brothers, John (Sandy), Gerard (Tara) Stanbrough. Sisters, Patricia (Dan) Marcott, Kathy Stanbrough, Marianne (Rob) Weninski. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Jim was an incredibly loyal husband and a devoted caregiver to his wife, always standing by her side. In recent years, he transformed his life and health while living at Beatrice Place, where he dedicated himself to daily workouts and well-being. He became a beloved member of that community, running the pool tournaments and enjoying weekly cornhole games with countless friends.
Jim’s passion for sports extended to his love for the New York Yankees, the Buffalo Bills, and the Syracuse Orange. He was also known for his deep affection for animals, especially cats.He was incredibly strong, always overcoming every challenge life threw at him with unwavering determination and a never give up attitude. Jim’s legacy is one of strength, kindness, community, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends, 3-6pm Monday December 29, 2025 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. On Tuesday morning at 10 am friends may assemble at the main gate of White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd. Pittsford, NY 14534 in the Creation Chapel for a funeral service. Entombment Birch Lawn Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contribution to the Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Greater Rochester, 99 Victor Rd, Fairport, NY 14450.
