Anna Taylor

Anna Taylor was born on September 10, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of Elizabeth Warren Johnson and Curtis Johnson.

Anna married Bernard Taylor and this union was blessed with twin girls, Lizette and Lisa.

In 1981, she married Jacob Thomas. Unfortunately, both marriages ended in divorce.

Anna began her career in telecommunications at A T & T Long Lines where she worked for 14 years before working at Wells Fargo Bank for 9 years. She was a Telecommunications Supervisor at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York, New York for 20 years before she retired in 2001.

Anna attended Zion Baptist Church and was baptized before moving to New Jersey and joining St. Matthew Baptist Church in Roselle. She was the Mother of the Church. She was known for her potato salad and desserts.

Anna Taylor departed this life on January 29, 2026 in Roselle, New Jersey at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Curtis Johnson and a sister, Marion.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, her daughters, Lizette Mayfield and Lisa Taylor; a son-in-law, Melvin Mayfield; a sister, Darlene Johnson; a brother, Kevin Johnson; seven grandchildren, Serren, Nicole, Latoya, Maurice, Kawon, Sumia and Jeffrey; great grandchildren, Serenity and Seth, Jr.; three great great grandchildren, Tamia, Taniya and Tylan; great great great granddaughter, Lydia; five uncles, Melvin, Warren, Leonard, David and Salis Fuller; two aunts, Betty and Michaco; a niece, Sandra Jeffries and a host of other relatives and friends.
