Anna Trundy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Funeral Alternatives Group - Lewiston on Sep. 2, 2022.
Date of Death: October 26, 2021
Date of Birth: July 8, 1923
Anna Harris Trundy, 98, of Hebron, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. She was born at home in Phillips, Maine, on July 8, 1923, the daughter of Helen and Wade Harris, Sr., arriving early and only weighing 3 lbs. The doctors did not expect her to make it, telling them to enjoy her while she was here, and we have enjoyed and loved her for 98 years. She grew up and attended schools in Buckfield, graduating from Buckfield High School in 1940. After attending Farmington Normal School for one year, she worked at Kresge's in Lewiston, as well as the Portland Packing Co. in West Minot for two summers. She married Harlan A. Trundy on October 24, 1942 and worked side-by-side with Harlan on the dairy farm, often seen out in the hayfield driving the tractors. She was a Clerk at the Hebron Post Office from 1965-1980. She was a faithful member of the West Minot Union Church, often hosting Bible Study groups and singing in the choir. She always made time to enjoy the beautiful sunsets on Brighton Hill and also enjoyed caring for her yard, tending to flowers, keeping her house clean, sewing, gardening, knitting, crocheting, crafting, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. She was an active member of the West Minot and East Hebron Extension Groups. She and Harlan loved to go square dancing, often wearing the matching shirts that she had made. She loved reading until she lost most of her eyesight. She then became an avid listener to music, especially Daniel O'Donnell. She was predeceased by her husband, Harlan, in 2002; her sister, Eleanor, and her brother, Wade, Jr. She is survived by her three children, Philip, and his wife, Sandra; Joan, and her husband, Bill; Annette, and her husband, Bill; her grandchildren, Timothy, Todd, Karen, Scott and Joshua; her four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her many caregivers and the staff at Clover Health Care, including the wonderful care she received by Hospice. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to Clover Health Care or Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at the West Minot Church in Minot Maine. A private burial will be held Saturday November 6th at 11:00 AM Lowell Cemetery, Buckfield Maine.
