Annabelle Banks was born into the world September 12, 1921 at home on the family farm in the Oconto County town of Morgan, and born into Eternal life August 29, 2025 at Maryhill Manor in Niagara, just 14 days before her 104th birthday. She died peacefully in her sleep with son Bryan at her side. The only child of Adolph & Olga Birr, she grew up in Niagara, graduating with the class of 1940, being the last surviving classmate. Following high school, she was a teller at the Niagara bank until marrying Darrold Banks on Oct 1, 1949 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain where she was a member, secure in her faith in Jesus Christ. They were happily married for 66 years until his death in 2015. The biggest contributor to that happiness was to not only love one another, but to truly LIKE one another as much or even more. Annabelle was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud homemaker who loved working in her kitchen, with baking and candy making being her favorites. She is survived by her son Bryan Banks of Homestead. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her parents-in-law, Matta and Robert Banks; sister-in-law, Eleanor (Clifford) Towns; and Bryan's girlfriend, Sally Benedict, who she loved as a daughter. Although Mom never gave up on her goal of moving back home again, she was very thankful for living at Maryhill Manor where she has resided due to the effects of a fall. The care and comfort Mom received will always be remembered and appreciated. Every Maryhill resident is attended to as if they are the ONLY resident. To the entire staff-- I sincerely Thank You! A visitation will be held at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, with Pastor Samuel Westra officiating the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family of Annabelle Banks online at www.ernashfuneralhomes.com. The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with the arrangements.
