Anne Crowson Beard, 79, passed away at her home after months of declining health. Born on August 16, 1942, in Statesville, N.C., she was the daughter of Henry (Sam) W. Crowson and Myrtle Wetmore Crowson Eggers. She was married for 56 years to Jack L. Beard who predeceased her in January of 2021. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was the embodiment of kindness and grace and was a blessing to those who knew her. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting in oils, acrylics and watercolors and an avid gardener. In her younger years, she enjoyed slalom water skiing and league bowling. She was of the Christian faith and a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Amy Beard (Kris) of Greensboro, N.C. and Ashley Marshall (Jon) of Danville, Va.; two grandchildren, Kasey Marshall of Danville, Va. and Jacob Marshall of Asheboro, N.C.; siblings, Mary Katherine Anderson (Ralph) of Littleton, Colo., Susan Kelly (John) of Knightdale, N.C., Ronald Crowson (Renee) of Raleigh, N.C., Bonnie Dodson (Jeff) of Lithia, Fla.; stepbrother, Steven Eggers (Jennifer) of Point Lookout, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Barbara Crowson of Richlands, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Lee K. Eggers; brothers, Henry Crowson, John Crowson and Sammy Crowson and stepsister, Kathryn Eggers Kennealy.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to American Parkinson Disease Association, PBCers.org, the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

A memorial service honoring Anne and Jack Beard will occur on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Danville, Va.
