Anne Francis Foster Carden, 86, of Haw River passed away at The Hospice Home in Burlington, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

A native of Alamance County she was the wife of William "Bill" Carden Sr. for 69 years. She attended Alexander Wilson School. She retired from Hawfields Day Care. Anne was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church before her illness. She was a leader of the Youth Choir and took them on many trips. She was also recognized as Mother of the year.

She was a strong woman and that took her through many illness including breast cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and compassion.

Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She leaves behind her son William "Billy" Carden, Jr (Patty) and daughter Rebecca "Beckye" Carden.

She is survived also by her grandchildren: John Scarlett (Meagan), Daniel Scarlett (Haley) Nicole Hawk (Chris), Beth Thompson, Chris Moon, Chad Pickard and step-granddaughter Caitlyn Adrens; she was blessed with 17 great grandchildren, sister, Patsy Foster Mahan Walker (Glenn) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel (Speedy) and Bertelle Burch Foster, two daughters Suzanne Carden Moon and Donna Carden Thompson, four brothers, Jerry Foster, (Betty), Freddy Foster, (Wonda), David Foster, (Donna) and Tony Foster.

Services will be held at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Graham, 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Bob Stephenson, Pastor of Riverside Baptist Church will be officiating. She will be available for viewing from 9:00am to 10:30am. She will be buried at Graham Memorial Park.
