Anne Marie Loupot Cowart passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Rouen, France, a beautiful and medieval city in Normandy France, the only daughter of Palmyre Le Villain Loupot Patek of Paris and Fernand Loupot of Epernay, France . She grew up in Paris, France and on her 18th birthday, married her husband, Russell Donald Cowart. She was a WWII war bride, and like many others, in the Spring of 1946, she followed her love and her heart across the wide Atlantic to live and raise her family in Collins, Georgia. She loved reading, solving crossword puzzles, creating art, sewing, gardening, and caring for her cats Baby, Mimi, and Boo-Boo. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family: her three daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family reunions and holidays and birthdays were her favorite times. She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Russell Donald Cowart, and her brother, Bernard Loupot of La Cote Saint Andre, France.
Surviving are her daughters, Katrina Stockard (Sam) of Acworth, Patricia Branch of Savannah, and Stephanie Attebery (Gwen) of Cobbtown. Also surviving are Grandchildren: John Branch, Amy Branch Repella, James Mark Branch, Julie Stockard, Lauren Stockard Cusatis, Monica Williams, Jason Hardie, Erica Allingham and Jason Attebery: great-grandchildren, Jena Branch, JR Branch, Brendan Branch, Emmitt Branch, Louisa Coley, James Repella, Millie Repella, Ruby Sandock and Annie Hall, Abigail Attebery, Addison Attebery, Chanden Allingham, Lillie Allingham, and Shiloh Stockard; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the amazing care givers to our Mother, the Nursing Staff at Candler County Hospital, the compassionate care of Dr James Ray and the nursing teams at Community Hospice and Affinis Hospice in Vidalia and the staff at Oxley Park in Lyons, and our amazing and loving family and friends who have loved us all on this journey.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to any charity of your choice, in honor of Mrs. Cowart.
