Anne Marie Crawford, 74, of South Burlington, VT, passed away on October 4, 2025.

Anne Marie shared stories about her childhood living on Bungy. She enjoyed snowmobiling with family, sledding and biking with her sister, hunting and fishing with her father, and visits from the hunters and fishermen from "down below". Her work ethic was instilled at an early age by watching her mother provide for the family. She attended Catholic School, then Colebrook Academy, where she graduated as Salutatorian of her class.

Anne Marie moved to the "big" city of Burlington in 1968, where she worked as a secretary at GE. She married Donald Crawford on April 11, 1970, and set roots in Queen City Park in South Burlington, where they raised their daughters. She and Don celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year.

Anne Marie and Don became involved with Marriage Encounter in 1981, making lasting friendships with people with whom they maintain close ties.

Anne Marie was known for her culinary skills; her dishes were often the first to disappear at social events. She never shied away from hard work and worked in a variety of occupations, but spoke most about her work in Financial Aid at the University of Vermont. She and Don retired 20 years ago, and were snowbirds, spending winters in St. Cloud, FL, and splitting summers between their home in South Burlington and their camp on Lake Wallace in Canaan, VT.

Anne Marie, affectionately known by some close friends and family as "Tootsie", will be remembered for her love of family and friends, her fierce competitive card-playing skills, and her ability to find amazing treasures at yard sales. She had a keen memory, recalling details to make everyone feel special. Her faith in God was strong. She was a reader at church, taught religion classes, and enjoyed participating in church events. She volunteered for various organizations, including the Vermont Foodbank, the Girl Scouts of America, Dress a Girl Around the World, and the New England Club.

Anne Marie is survived by her husband, Don; her daughters: Shelley Bernier (husband, Mark), and Melaney Wald (fiancé, Brian Colfax), her sister Diane (husband, Gary) Westmoreland and; brothers-in-law, Stanley Crawford, Rodney (wife, Dot) Crawford, Vernon (wife, Bonnie) Crawford, Harland (wife, Odette) Crawford, and Calvin Crawford; grandchildren: Kaitlin, Thomas, Brian, Jake, Riley, Emily, Jayden, and Lina; close friends made through Marriage Encounter, and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Gilles, and sisters, Marie and Nicole.

Anne Marie's family extends heartfelt thanks to the UVMMC staff, particularly the Surgical, Nursing, Palliative, and Spiritual Care teams, for their exceptional care.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel in Burlington. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Her burial will take place in the Assumption/Wallace Pond Cemetery, 180 Jackson Lodge Road, Canaan, VT, on October 18, 2025, at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow at Jackson's Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Vermont Foodbank, 33 Parker Road, Barre, VT 05641, or online at www.vtfoodbank.org.

Arrangements are in the care of Ready Funeral & Cremation Services.
